A Cultural Holiday Celebration Of Song, Dance & Drum
Annually the WorldBeat Cultural Center emphasizes the second principle of Kwanzaa, Kujichagulia; which means self-determination in Swahili. Kwanzaa is the indigenous Afro-American cultural holiday created in the 1960's, modeling Africa's first fruits harvest celebration. All families and races are invited to join the celebration .
Featuring WorldBeat Center's African Drum & Dance Troupe and a performance by Senagalese artists "Sene Africa" .The featured speaker is from the Earth Center discussing Kemetic African Spirituality.
There will also be a festive lighting of the Candles. The Kwanzaa Karamu (Kwanzaa Feast) will be prepared by the Prophet Vegetarian Restaurant Staff. Festivities are open for participation and/or observation. Come one, come all to Celebrate!!
Kwanzaa Kits for the family will be for sale in the WorldBeat Gift shop. |
